About MetaMaster

Platform Concepts

Understanding the core concepts of MetaMaster will help you get the most out of the platform.

Core Concepts

๐ŸŽฏ

Meta

A Meta is a top-level collection that defines a format, rules, and deck size limits. It contains multiple Sets and serves as the organizational structure for your TCG content.

๐Ÿ“ฆ

Set

A Set is a collection of Cards within a Meta. Sets can be themed around specific Pokemon types, eras, or custom concepts. Each Set belongs to one Meta.

๐ŸŽด

Card

Individual Pokemon, Trainer, or Energy cards that belong to a Set. Cards can be submitted by users and require approval from Set owners.

๐Ÿƒ

Deck

A Deck is a collection of Cards (typically 40 or 60 cards) built for gameplay. Decks can be standalone or connected to a Meta/Set. Energy cards have no quantity limit.

Format vs Archetype

Format

A Format defines the rules and card pool for a Meta. Formats determine which cards are legal, rotation rules, and competitive structure.

Archetype

An Archetype describes a deck's playstyle and strategy. It's how the deck is played, not which format it belongs to.

Platform Limits

To ensure fair usage and maintain platform quality, MetaMaster has default limits on content creation. These limits help prevent abuse while allowing active community members to contribute meaningfully.

Default Limits

The following are the default limits for all users:

โœจMetas Per User

Maximum number of metas you can create

1

๐Ÿ“ฆSets Per Meta Owner

Maximum sets you can create in your own metas

3

๐ŸŽฏSets Per Meta

Maximum total sets allowed in a single meta

5

๐ŸŽดCards Per Set

Maximum cards allowed in a single set

144

Deck Limits

Deck limits are set per meta by the meta owner:

  • Standard Deck Size: 40 or 60 cards (set by meta owner)
  • Card Quantity: Maximum 4 copies of the same card (except Energy cards, which have no limit)
  • Unbound Decks: Some metas allow unlimited deck sizes

Requesting Limit Increases

Need higher limits for your content? We understand that active creators may need more flexibility. You can request limit increases by reaching out to our team.

๐Ÿ“งContact EnvoyOfHell for Limit Increases

To request an increase in your limits (metas, sets, cards, etc.), please contact:

๐Ÿฆ
Twitter/X: @Envoy_Of_Hell

What to include in your request:

  • Your MetaMaster username
  • Which limits you'd like increased (metas, sets, cards, etc.)
  • Your current usage and why you need higher limits
  • Any relevant context about your projects

How Limits Work

The limit system uses a priority hierarchy:

  1. User Override: Custom limits set specifically for your account (highest priority)
  2. Meta Override: Custom limits set for a specific meta
  3. Set Card Limit: Individual set card limits (if set by the set owner)
  4. Default Limits: Standard platform limits (lowest priority)

Note: Limit increases are granted on a case-by-case basis. We consider factors such as account activity, content quality, and community engagement when reviewing requests.
